TFH Hangouts

What are Touch for Health Hangouts?

Touch for Health Hangouts were developed in 2018 by Jackie Lysaght as a way to connect TFHers locally, nationally or internationally in a community of practice.

Our aim is to create a space where Touch for Healthers at all levels, (students, instructors/new instructors or those in practice) can connect and share with others at the same stage of their TFH journey. In this way, we build our community and a deeper understanding of TFH as we learn with and from each other.

Types of TFH Hangouts

There are three main types of hangouts - student, instructor and in practice hangouts.

Jackie also offers dedicated hangouts to support new TFH instructors in their first year of teaching. These new instructor hangouts are also open to those returning to teaching TFH after a break. Please contact me if you would be interested in joining this group.

We are also delighted to contribute to the annual worldwide IKC Balancathon with a special two hour hangout.

What to expect in a Hangout

TFH are online conversations on topics that matter to us. Hangouts worldwide follow a common format starting with an opening circle & group goal balance, followed by the discussion on a TFH topic, ending with a closing circle. A key feature is the after conversation on Facebook where participants post their key take-aways and invite others from the community to contribute.

Communities of Practice are groups of people who share a concern, a set of problems, or a passion about a topic, and who deepen their knowledge and expertise in this area by interacting on an ongoing basis.
